Hi, what a great forum / site
We are in the process of selling our house in Surrey and moving to East Sussex where we will have a bigger garden and hopefully fresher air.
We have six chickens, dog (Jasper) and cat (Cleo) who will be moving with us. We are hoping to grow more fruit and veg and perhaps increase in live stock  :pig:.

Welcome and good luck with your move. We are in Mid Wales with lots of fresh air so I appreciate what you are looking for.  :D

Hi Rosemary / Jacyjones

Thank you for your welcome messages. We have a large garden in our current house and have managed to grow a number of fruit/veg for the table. The green house is full with cucumbers, tomatoes, aubergines and sweet chilly pepper plants. We could not wait for the house move and brought our six chickens a few months ago and have to say we wished we had done so years ago. Fresh eggs daily and the enjoyment of watching them is something not to miss (not to mention the free fertiliser for the garden.

Our house sale/purchase is progressing well (hope to move mid September) and we look forward to the challenge of a bigger plot and the prospect of other live stock. The bungalow needs a lot of work as does the land, but then it would not be anywhere near as exciting if it did not (must be mad).

Ps Jasper is a Springer, cocker cross

He's lovely. I saw Sprocker Spaniels advertised last week - I assume that Jasper is a Sprocker!!

Yes a Sprocker, his energy is boundless and we have to have him cut each 1/4 as his fur down his legs and on his paws grows really quickly. He is a good dog but have to say we have wondered if we should have gone for his sister instead. He can be a bit boisterous and defiant at times.

There are certainly some aspects of both our dogs' behaviour that I would like to change. there was an article in a magazine about a local dog trainer / behaviourist, so once I make time, I'm going to go and meet her and see what I'm doing to provoke the behaviour that I'd like to change.

Once I've been, I'll put on a diary post - might be of some interest.
