Rams - an Icelandic (sheep) film

I can thoroughly recommend this 2015 Icelandic film which has recently been released in the UK on DVD. The film is in Icelandic with English subtitles and is the story of how two estranged, bachelor brothers who have adjacent sheep farms deal with scrapie and how eventually they are reconciled after forty years of separation. The synopsis doesn't sound like standard box office material but trust me the story, the scenery, the knitted jumpers, the wry humour and the first-rate acting make this a film that lingers in the memory....and for small-holders there are plenty of good quality Icelandic sheep as well as a local show!  It really is worth seeking out (FOPP has copies for just £4)

Terrible film. Great scenery, terrific knitwear; you can go to the lavvy safe in the knowledge that you'll be able to pick up the story when you get back - and you'll need a gin at the end.  :coat:
