Hello everyone. I'm just about to complete on a house build in rural Ayrshire which comes with 3 acres of former farm land.

So truly a somewhat accidental and small small smallholder.

For is it's about a family home and space for our toddler and daft dog primarily. In terms of using the land we are intending to have a nice big garden, grow veg for ourself and plant trees.

That's about it. But I'm also interested in forestry and I plan to try to buy small bits of land throughout Ayrshire every 5 years or so and plant trees.

Looking forward to being here on the forum and learning from everyone.
