Greetings from Bristol!
« on: August 24, 2015, 12:25:38 pm »
Hi all

Just thought I'd post a quick intro. My wife and I currently live just outside Bristol, and are looking to move to a bigger place with a few acres of land. I intend to get a compact tractor and plant my own woodland, or ideally buy a place with woodland already present. Alas, land is super expensive round here but we can't go too far from Bristol as that's where we work. For now, at least...

Look forward to reading lots of useful info on here.

Cheers.

Don't wrestle with pigs, they will love it and you will just get all muddy.

Let go of who you are and become who you are meant to be.

Hello and Welcome from Somerset. Land is cheaper down here as well and there is a really good train service to Bristol. :)

Many thanks, all  :sunshine:

I'd be willing to move further away, my wife (currently) less so. I'm working on her!

Do you mean she only currently your wife or she's currently not interested in moving far?   :innocent:

We're between Chepstow and Monmouth, beautiful countryside and only 20 mins from the bridge

We did look at that area a bit, but the bridge was a bit of a psychological barrier. Also, I currently cycle to work in about 15 minutes, so any commute over 30 minutes sounds alarmingly long! Might have to reconsider that in order to get a reasonable amount of land though.

Any ideas on an average land price per acre on the far side of the bridge?!

Thank you.
