Flaky Scalp
« on: June 11, 2015, 09:47:37 pm »
Hi, One of my goats has started flaking on her crown (the parting in her hair on her head) and the skin has gone dry and crispy.  :-\  It doesn't seem to annoy her but I want to sort the problem out.  Has anyone else had this happen before?

Is she rubbing her had against something? Some of mine do it - probably boredom.

I have solved simple flakey skin (but be sure there is no infection, no mites) with a dab of olive oil rubbed into the skin for a few days, problem solved. Hair grew back quite quickly.

Thanks Anke
I haven't noticed her rubbing her head on anything.  She is the one on my photo actually, so she doesn't have horns.
I will try the olive oil method and hopefully it does the trick.
