Hello from West Wales
« on: May 09, 2008, 10:22:00 pm »
Virtually new to everything. A little experience years ago with chickens, a little with veg, but recently moved from 10 square yards of concrete in a city to a fabulous 11 and a bit acres. Still reeling that it's happened. Starting with veg, chickens hopefully in a few weeks after the smallholders fair in Wales next weekend. We inherited  with the house 6 stroppy geese and a sheepdog who looks after them  (24/7!!) He didn't want to move. Start the Welsh lessons next week. Want goats eventually and 3 pigs, but everything slowly. Have a couple of heath robinson chicken houses to rebuild next week. I can bore for England (well Wales now if it's ever called for) on things to do with wood if it's ever of any use. Delighted to find the site. Thanks.

Hi Wolfie and welcome.

Join the club - the majority of us here are trying to (or have managed to) escape city in favour of a more fulfilling way of life.  :)

Please share/bore us on things to do with wood. My OH has developed an unhealthy interest in pallets!!! ::) We've made a pig ark (not from pallets :D) and are going for wood today to build a chicken coop big enough for 20. Any tips?

Look forward to hearing your news

Hi Wolfie,

I'm new here too. Where in West Wales are you?
We moved from Pembrokeshire to France (Le Limousin) at the end of last year.

Good luck with all your projects and plans.

Linda

Don't wrestle with pigs, they will love it and you will just get all muddy.

Let go of who you are and become who you are meant to be.
