we had 2 inspections, - one to check ear tags, and another when someone id sold sheep to didn't notify that they had received them...tut tut.

The purchaser sends of the movement docket not the seller although if your on Scot Eid Web site you can show movement there, depends where you ticked on movements slip. I always find them easy to get on with,

We had a brucellosis test years ago - they came to test 10% of the flock. We had five sheep at the time ;D

We've had cattle inspections every year since we claimed under the Scottish Beef Scheme, which I suppose is fair enough. The inspections are unannounced. One of my cows always manages to lose a tag just before they arrive but you have 28 days to replace it. TBH I've always found them helpful and reasonable.

the purchaser never bothered to do their paperwork even after a good 6 weeks, mine was all up to date but as these were sheep id bought into Scotland from England, the inspector was slightly concerned they had disappeared off radar. no notice visits are a pest as they presume you can just everything and entertain them.
