Standstill query
« on: November 13, 2014, 09:32:19 pm »
My mother-in-law is getting some sheep at the weekend which will trigger the weeks standstill on her pigs.  But she's got a cull sow to go the slaughter market next week - is that movement exempt from the standstill because it's a dedicated slaughter market or will she have to wait until after the standstill and take her the week after?  (The sow tried to kill the boar so she's on a fast trip out of there!)

I'm sure it's exempt, but we've both been looking on the defra site for confirmation but it's like finding a needle in a haystack.  :o

Thanks in advance

 Hi yes exemption applies to red market days and slaughter houses, so your OK to get her off.
we can still learn if we are willing to listen.
