Our Shetland cattle
« on: October 08, 2014, 08:16:34 pm »
I just wanted to share some photos of our Shetland cattle.

Breeze, one of our two originals,  loves a back scratch - she's not as vast as this photo makes her look. In a cow'scase, the camera adds a couple of hundredweight  :innocent: Hopefully she;s in calf with her fourth calf.

Annie (Blizzard's 2012 daughter) in the foreground, hopefully in calf with her second calf, then Bonnie (Breeze's 2013 daughter, hopefully in calf for the first time), Hamish (Blizzard's 2014 bull calf), Breeze and Charlie (Blizzard's 2013 bullock).

Our two 2014 heifer calves; Rosie (red and white, Annie's first calf) and Sunny, Breeze's third calf.

All the herd; L-R Annie, Blizzard, Bonnie, Hamish, Breeze, Sunny, Charlie and Sunny.

Ah, ain't they great and looking good.

Re the 'camera effect' - one of our girls, Clover, is very barrel shaped and always looks podgy round the middle, makes some of the others look dainty in comparison.

As long as they're healthy and happy and have good calves, with an easy calving, who cares if some of them are a bit rotund.

Just love the breed, such nice cattle to keep.

Sue.
