I've posted this in the Poultry section too - but about poultry of course!  ::)

Inspired by a post in the sheep section, I thought I'd ask what are the best Pig keeping books you know of. I've been buying lots of smallholding books and food growing / preserving books but I'd like to get swotting on the animal side of things too while we're waiting to find our perfect smallholding.

Planning on getting a few weaners for the freezer to start with and eventually breeding them for ourselves. Small scale though, not for business.

 :excited:
Little bugs have lesser bugs upon their backs to bite 'em. And lesser bugs have lesser bugs and so ad infinitum!

You'll find a selection here, based on our experience and recommendations from other TAS members:

The Haynes Pig Manual is great, really well laid out, easy to follow, good advice and excellent photos.

Thanks.

Looks like haynes is the way to go.

I'll have to rein myself in or I'll be buying all the books on that list and there'll be no money left for the actual pigs!  ::) ;D
