I'm not a smallholder but....

.. there is an awful lot of excellent information to be found here! We live in the middle of the Creuse (a department in La France Profonde), it's a bit like Herefordshire where we used to live. We have about one and a quarter acres (5000 sq m) of orchard. The trees are mainly ancient apple trees with some pears, cherries, plums, nectarines and peaches. I have a Kubota L1500 tractor and a 90cm flail mower to keep it under control.

We've just planted 120 apple trees, a couple of plum, couple of gage and a few pears   :excited:
