sore feet

I don't know what to do with my boer nanny's feet.  She has always had quite badly shaped hooves but now she hobbles around and it looks really painful.  Its the two front ones. I have soaked them, trimmed them and sprayed them.  Its abit difficult to describe but it looks as if the hoof on the inside hasn't grown down and I wonder whether that is making her feet sore?  The vet came out last year and looked and said it was scald.  It seemed to clear up but is now back.  The spraying doesn't seem to be helping.

Are you using the Terramycin blue spray - only available through the vet?  I have never known it fail yet to clear up scald as it is specifically designed for that purpose.  Usually it works within 24 hours.

However if it has been sore for a while it may well have moved on to foot rot - any (horrible) smell? (once you have smelled it you will never forget..).

She may be better with an antibiotic injection (Alamycin LA works better for feet problems) if it has progressed to rot.

I have not had a problem with the goats, but my lambs have had a lot of scald this spring - grass is quite long and it's wet.
