Thanks for your feedback, obviously if it is not in your price range you can afford to buy detached, have more land and large barns etc that's great.
However, for people looking on a smaller budget the neighbours are a compromise to own the land on a much smaller budget. Once your out the back of the house you can forget the other 9 barns exist, it's quiet and peaceful with no roads or houses  to the rear atall.
We also have 2 summerhouses with electricity which have catered for our needs of storage and breeding pigs ducks and chickens.

I fully understand you have a higher budget, just pointing out the above for other readers

Cripes!!! I wouldn't call 300 grand a "smaller budget".


We paid 289 for ten acres, woodland, riparian rights, no neighbours/traffic and a three bed house here in Wales!!


Mind you - Wales is not Herefordshire

Your right, if you venture further into wales you can get a lot more for your money, however you cannot get the amount of land we have, with the size and condition of our home in this location for a smaller budget.
We have scoured competing properties and they just are not around in this area for less than £350,000 so in comparison to this area it is a small budget.
If we had our spec here but were detached we would be priced about £100,000 more than we are. It's unusual to have a barn conversion with a garden let alone acreage.

We're moving to wales to get more for our money but will be in a much more rural area meaning more travel to get anywhere.
