Powdery mildew on courgette
« on: July 01, 2012, 11:34:18 am »
My last remaining courgette is now doing well outside. Producing male flowers and looking good.

I'm a bit concerned as the leaves look like they've got powdery mildew but the shape is good with no deformity, the plant is developing well and when I rub the grey deposits with my finger, nothing comes off.

Do you think it is just a feature of the breed/type (no idea which I'm afraid)?

Post us a piccy Suziequeue.  It might be the variety as some do have colour changes on the leaves.  On the other hand, right now is when mildew starts to appear.

Pix enclosed. I must say I was very confused when I went to the garden centre this morning.

Almost all the anti-fungal products were for ornamental flowers, gooseberries and blackcurrants only. Nothing for veg!!
