Thainstone Rare breed Sale
« on: September 01, 2011, 09:14:28 am »
Oxford Down Gimmers make top money at Thainstone.  These sheep are on the RBST register as At Risk and need support.  They were introduced to NE Scotland over 100 years ago and enjoyed massive popularity until the Suffolk arrived.  They are still a good terminal sire, producing fast growing, hardy, vigorous lambs that mature early off grass. Adults can be taken to heavier weights, also off grass/hay without going to fat.  Think of the savings on feed bills.  Find out more in this weeks Turriff Advertiser or mmu@aultan.com
We keep Ryelands, Southdowns, Oxford Downs, Herdwicks, Soay, Lleyn, an Exmoor pony and Shetland geese.  Find us on Twitter as @RareBreedsScot
