Solar panels and leisure batteries
« on: September 19, 2017, 09:26:59 am »
Hi I have bought an alarm system for my barn but don't have mains power. Tried a leisure battery but it lasts less than a week. The question is, if I get a solar panel to charge the battery will I be able to power the alarm system at the same time?

Yes, you just link them together with a charge controller like this

I know this is an old thread but I'm looking for an "off grid" security for my barn. Does yours work and how did you do it?
Cheers
