Had good success with Jerusalem (f)artichokes one year- grew really high like sunflowers and gave plenty of shade, and the pigs must have liked them as they dug up every last one! It's notorious for being hard to get rid of once you've planted it on and we haven't seen a single one since.

I had success with stubble turnips, they grow fast and the pigs loved them.

Can anyone suggest a source for stubble turnips (or similar) for small scale use? Most sites I can find online list it in large scale quantities (10kg+) which might cover 2-3 acres but I have less than an acre for this

Alternatively are there any other similar crops which might be useful?

We buy all our veggie seeds from www.wholesale.molesseeds.co.uk they sell small quantities of seeds but I had a quick look and couldn't see specific fodder turnips but several different turnips, they also sell Green Manure plants like beans and peas, would they be any good for pigs?

Hope it maybe helps
