In my humble opinion Andy, that looks OK, nice and clean. I take it the sheep is recovering well.  If there were any more maggots in the flesh the problem would probably have manifested itself by way of a very poorly sheep by now. Well done!

Not a sign of any maggotts, Ive also ordered up some teramycin spray which will come tomorrow and where it has scabbed over i will give it a spray, Im just thankful I got it early, that happened in 12 hours, noticed in the morning by lunchtime when I came with the crovect they had broken the skin.  anyway I didnt hear them say "ill be back" so they are fried good and proper!!

I was very surprised to see such a small affected area after the trimming back.  As we all know, maggots go with the territory with sheep, you caught it well within 'time' - proof that your looking out for them.

I love you comment about you and your dogs having your own language together, I can just hear it now on 'one man and his dog'.  My dog has his own language too but its completely different from mine judging by his behaviour!!  Plus my little mini daxon 'Oliver' does not have command over any other animal on the whole farm except for those much smaller than him - which only leaves small very small rodents and frogs!!

thanks for the nice comments, i caught the flystrike and treated  almost straight away, i saw the little blighter green flies crawling into the wool, so got straight onto lit that afternoon, it was right to cut it further back and alltho i had stopped it i could see the scorched skin which was actually larger than i thought, healing up nicely now, but want to give it a squirt of terramycin spray but my local vet does not do farm animals so has none... I will have to get on the phone tomorrow...as my on line purchase has not arrived because i need a presciption !!!!

As for my dog commands its more like bringing in an aircraft but it works for us.

have you any pics of your animals?
