we just added to our flock, and are now back to the 'where did they lay today?' game  ;D

they vary here too.

when we first got ours they laid all over the place, then settled down into a routine of 2 in the am in nesting boxes, one in the stable and one in the afternoon in the hen house.

now i have upset the applecart, its back to square one...but it will settle again, just takes them time to adjust.

My kids would go out each morning and collect the eggs ... it was great when they were little and helped to teach them maths .. we had a little egg chart in the kitchen and would write on it how many eggs a day we got then add it up at the end of the week :)

There is usually one in the hen house when I go to let them out in the morning.  Then 3 eggs lunch times.  Late afternoon i usually find 4  or 5 outside somewhere.  Thats from 10 ex bat hens.  I am pleased they all seem to lay every day.

mine almost always stop laying by 11 am very rearly get any later than this, i have read some books suggest that hens are kept shut in house till about 11 or 12 because they should have layed all the eggs for the day and therfore will not be able to lay eggs all over the place, however after reading some comments about what time thier hens are laying this might not work for everyone!!
