Just got 5 16 week old geese growing well .Whats a good feeding plan to get these good for xmas .Already on an acre of grass. Wondered about a supplement bearing in mind the final cost.

At 16 weeks we usually just give them whole wheat in the evening. They get most of their nourishment from the grass. However, with all this dry weather the grass is almost gone so I am still giving them some duck and goose growers pellets as well.

At 20 weeks we change to two thirds whole wheat and one third goose or turkey finisher and continue until Christmas. They also need plenty of water to drink and groom with.

Have you protected them from foxes? They will still be vulnerable, especially at night.

Yes thanks for info . Kept geese a few years ago. Not very good at Xmas .Just let them graze  .Yes very fox wary . 3 lines of single electric wire at different heights leading up to a electric fence .Bugers can't get near enough to dig. Also got a stream running though that's fox proof as well any crabby looking duck or goose looks fab after a few weeks on my plot. Didn't get the feed plan correct last time  managed to get 5 16 week olds at £5 each in an auction some selling a few off due to grass shortage so they had to feed them expensive feed . Spoke to the seller he mention mini pellets and rolled barley.
