Duckling hatching problems
« on: July 16, 2018, 09:57:13 am »
Morning,
On Friday afternoon our first ducklings started to hatch at school.
The first one got out with no issues, but the second still hadn't made it out by Monday morning.
I helped him out of the egg this morning but he is struggling to open his feet or get off his back.
Is there anything that we can do to help him, or is it best just to leave him be?
Thanks.

I think it's probably best to leave him. He will have the remains of the yolk sack inside him to keep him going.

Agree with above. Did you add more water, before hatching, to the incubator so the shells aren't too dry?
