hello from Oklahoma
« on: September 23, 2008, 01:47:13 am »
;)my wife and I just bought our place last year we have ten acres with a pond. so far we have cleaned up the pond and stocked it with fish . cleared a site for our garden and one for a orchard , we have planted some trees (apricots , plumes , peaches) and plan on finnishing up this coming spring with apples , cheeries , pears and figs . we have also planted some blueberrys and blackberrys . we have built our pig pen and just purchased 3 berkshires last week . we would like to have a chicken coup built by the spring and clear a few more acres for some sheep .  we both grew up on ranches in northern California ,were married in 82 moved to Oklahoma in 90 and have been city dwellers every since so we are very happy to be out in country again .

Hello & Welcome Mack,

Wow, that's sounds pretty good 8) When I was younger I wanted to live on a ranch just like the ones you see on cowboy films! Instead I grew up in the city of London!!  But now we live in France, we have 2 1/2 acres. We have a small orchard that we planted last year & we keep pigs, sheep & chickens and also our two horses mustn't forget them  :horse:

Good Luck ;)

Hi and welcome, I would love some fruit trees, but the goats have a different idea.

Sounds great, I think working the land and being at one with nature is so leveling, never mind, big screen tellies, designer outfits and posh cars, living off mother earth is the thing...Good on yer..Sandra
