Urm.....if keeping for pets why would you want ewes over wethers, who make the best pets??? Or why if limited space would you want a pair....a ram with only one ewe will give her a hard time and what will you do with him when she lambs? What would you do with any ewe lambs who would need to be kept seperate from their father?
I as this as Ouessants may be small but they are proper sheep and the entire rams are horned and can be quite challenging in their behaviour.....bit like Jersey bulls ......size does not equate to inocent and easy
In my humble opinion rams of any breed should be kept by those looking to breed stock for wool, eating or selling.....or to build up a flock. They are not for the faint hearted! I have had sheep for 30 years and as I have said before one of the only times I was floored by a ram it was a Ouessant
Ewes will often cost you around £2-300 each in Britain if registered and about 70 euros plus for a nice one in france.....more for a quality ewe
Wethers are often a better bet for lawnmower pets as they are very tame and no hassel.
