Recent essential building work required the removal of two fairly established (10 year old) wisteria plants. The builders have cut them down at ground level. They were beautiful for a couple of weeks of the year but took a lot of regular maintenance. I am a little sorry to have lost them but would not replace them. Do you think I need to do anything to the stump or will such brutal treatment have killed them? I do not want suckers appearing. Is that a risk with wisteria?
Any recommendations for treatment to use?
Thanks
