What is it?

Does anyone know what type of melon this is - I got the baby plant from a garden center, not believing it would grow in this country, and now I have quite a few melons on the way, but I dont know what type of how to tell if they are ripe!

Looks like the melon I am growing for colder climes,it is a hybrid and I got the seeds from Dobies of Devon but the seed packet is in the polytunnel and its raining badly so I will tell you proper name later.(Or look on their website if you cant wait) :D
