If you'd like to take a look at Badger Face (not that different conformation to Lleyns) X Southdown lambs you're not too far from me (NE Herefordshire).  Or you could hire one of our shearling rams and try it on a selection of your ewes (high health flock, closed to females).

Why since you say you love your Llyens  why would you want to cross them , keep Dave and use him on some ewes , sell some females  at breed society sales  and buy a second  recorded ram  .  You have spent a lot of time and money trying to breed the best

I'm not quite getting why you want to move away from your pure Lleyns after investing all this time and money if it works for you?


The point about signet recording is that you are buying basing your decision on data.

Thanks for all the replies guys. Soon after I posted similar thread on a different forum someone offered me an even better ram than my current one, we are hoping to be picking him up at the end of May, for very reasonable price too. Pics look really good and he was bred by very good breeder :) Pure, pedigree Lleyn. We decided to keep the flock pure in case of temptation to keep back crosses  ;D
