Coprophagia in horses
« on: August 10, 2010, 08:27:23 pm »
Any horsey folk on the forum know why my 15 month old Mini Shetland filly is eating the poo poo of her companion, my old Highland pony Rosie.  They are out at grass day and night and have access to a paddock lick.   :horse:  ???

It may be due to an imbalance in the gut flora.

You could try a Norvite pasture lick(if they havent already got), its suitable for NE Scot land, and some pink powder for their gut too. Not expensive options and palatable....good luck with it, thats a bit yucky!
