Hi all,
We have had issues with our geese before with worms, we lost a gosling to it and then treated the rest with IVM inj as there was also an issue with lice. Following that we have tried penning up for a week to feed flubenvet pellets, with limited success with the older geese. Our vets don't have much of a clue (suggested turning the pellets into a paste and force feeding it to the geese, then were blank when I asked about injectables or oral drenches). We then lost all our geese to foxes. (Keeping geese has had some hard lessons for us).
We saved some eggs from our last geese and hatched them. We think we have a gander and two girls but spring will tell. The suspected gander started squeaking a month or so back. At first I thought he was just getting his voice but he has kept doing it and none of the others have. I worried about worms so we penned them up into a small area and offered the flubenvet pellets for a week. They have eaten the dose but he is still squeaking. Any suggestions? He seems to mostly do it when he is eating corn from the water.
If I can go to my vet suggesting something I think I will have a lot more luck than if I go to them with nothing.
Here's a (long) video with a few squeaks (
