I bought some poison last week an learnt that soon I'll only be able to buy the weak stuff that doesn't work.
I was told there was an online qualification (£50 + VAT) that would allow me to continue buying the proper stuff and in sensible volume.
I can't find the qualification and can't remember what it was called - can anybody help?

The research has shown that the "weakened strength" bait will work so it makes you think. Have we been getting more rats per block with the existing bait or have we be buying bait that was stronger than it needed to be for all these years?

The weaker bait only works if there is no other food source, as they have to consume more to have the same effect as the standard bait.

I bit the bullet and went on the course, had a good day out and came home with lots of ideas from the other participants as we all had learnt effective ways, in different environments, for baiting rodents.

I think the rat poison research was done by the same lab that decided that Creocote was a useful replacement for Creosote.
They also did water based gloss for external use and diesel cars to improve air pollution.

Ive done the course and its really easy even if you haven't much experience in the sector.

The best approach to controlling rats is to keep your place tidy and have any possible feed for the rats in rodent proof storage.

Give them no where to hide and nothing to eat. Trapping and baiting if necessary can then be done effectively.

You can get the more powerful second generation anticoagulants in 1 kilo tubs without doing a course:

It's also possible to buy real creasote if you look hard, I got some from a local farm supplier by explaining that I worked in the industry.

I've been told I can only buy the stronger poison until April this year. The 1Kg limit was introduced a few years ago.
