« on: July 22, 2010, 10:10:21 pm »
our chuck house floor is concrete when im mucking out and washing etc i bleach the floor with
hot hot water followed by just hot water to give a finall cleansing and to wash of any bleach that is on the floor.
i have allways thought about this and want to know what are peoples thoughts about using bleach on the floor,
would just hot water do the job just as well?
thanks for any comments ;)

just the same as with bleach, Plenty of hosing down with clean water. Ive allways used it on my aivary floors which housed austrailian finches and never had any problems. Be intresting to see what the others may say though. I'm no expert.

Yeah hot water and a deck brush. When I build the accommodation I leave a draining area in the floor or within the framing so the water flows free. I'm relatively new to hens though. but bloody hooked. and this site is making me worse.

tiny amounts left should not be a problem, surely you cover the floor in shaving etc, thus creating a protective layer
