Another newbie dropping in to say hi to everyone. 
I'm Dan, from Cheshire, and I'm hoping to relocate in the next few months up to the north east of Scotland. I've just finished helping my dad restore his Fergie TED ( all done apart from a minor technical problem with the hydraulic mechanism not working correctly ) and am currently stockpiling equipment to take with us ( my girlfriend and I ) when it all happens!

Hi from Central Scotland - how far North are you going?  I used to be 25 miles North of Aberdeen, just off the Inverness trunk road

The plan ( if you could call it that ) is to be somewhere near a line drawn between Aberdeen and Inverness. We'd like to be towards the Inverness end, but my feeling is that it'll have to be towards the Aberdeen end as I work in heavy industry.
The one get out we do have is if I do struggle to find work, then I have enough experience to set up on my own and do car / agricultural / marine servicing and repair work - but that's the fallback position which enables us to move if nothing else comes up!
