Well just a few days ago I was posting that my ex-bats had not laid an egg since I rescued them in April - they have been through a moult and are now fine looking. I was debating whether their time had come.

Lo and behold 2 days running we have had eggs.

Although - call me suspicious, but I wonder whether my mother in law (as previously mentioned, slightly eccentric) may be putting the eggs in the nest box when I am not looking to save the chickens 


Assuming all is normal (as normal as it gets round here) it looks like we have eggs again anyway

I think I will be very disappointed if you post in a few days time and say your mother in law was not saving these chooks and they were indeed laying by themselves ha ha.

Well, unless yours lay eggs with date stamps on them you should hopefully be able to tell the difference !

She is eccentric, but very smart. She would buy free range from somewhere else so no date stamp 

Hmm - maybe I watch too much CSI.
