Anyone use these?

I keep reading how plastic will acquire a goaty smell and taint the milk on (mostly) american goat forums, but I'm just weighing up what to get when I start to milk in a couple of weeks time.

Also both my girls had single kids and because I didn't know it would happen  :coat: both my girls have developed a shrinking/shrunken udder - is there any point in trying to make the half producing again or should I just abandon it and notch in my 'must not do next year' list?

I used to use plastic containers to store my goats milk, and never had a problem with the milk being tainted.

I keep meaning to order one of these, currently using a plastic sweet Jar, (Christmas type, Roses chocs in) which doesn't taint. But I can get my hand in and clean out easy.
If you can get any milk out of shrunken side its worth trying, obviously as long as you don't overtry and damage her.

Providing udder hasn't already dried up completely in that 'quarter' then milking it out regularly will increase milk production (though not to full capacity)

Thanks for the replies folks, I might get a couple of those plastic containers to milk into and then strain into wide mouthed glass jars to keep in the fridge, at least that way the milk wouldn't be stored in plastic.

Gosh how would I know if I was damaging the udder (I'm worried now)? One of the girls' udder half is definitely getting bigger (I'm milking it twice a day), but theres not much change in my other girl and the teat on that side is all flat and floppy, getting about a tablespoon out of that one. Shrugs!
