Anyone used the draper single string straining tool?

Yes, and yes.  You do sometimes need three hands though ... i tend to lean my leg against the tool to keep the tension whilst I use my hands to knock in the staple etc.

Use one similar for repairs only and fairly short lengths , designed to fit any part of the body to push and hold so your hands are free
