Urgent sale of Female Goats
« on: July 01, 2010, 11:47:00 pm »
The people who  bought two goats from me have phoned me today, to ask if I can have the goats back. The land they rent is part of an Estate, and it seems someone has said they have goats on, as well as the hens etc.  And the land agent or whatever he is, has told them they cannot keep goats ........so, they wanted to know if I could take them back.  Unfortunately, I can't.  I am downsizing my goat herd, as we have to be off the farm by the end of July.  I still have more goats to sell, and much as I would like to, I cannot take these girls back.

Goats are British Alpine, unregistered, and horned - horns are large, but curved back.  As far as  I know, they have never kidded, but no reason why they should not be put in kid.  I believe they may have Anglo Nubian in them, as they have the longer ears.  They are 4 years old.

We had them with the five Franks, and they were no trouble, and grazed free range!!

Their new owners are upset at having to sell the goats, and want them to go for a good home.  Prefer together if possible.

If you are interested, or know someone who might be, please pm me.

Goats are in Derbyshire.

Hi Roxy,

So sorry to hear this, I do hope you find somewhere for them very soon. I can only begin to imagine the extra stress this is causing you.

That's really crap Roxy, especially after you had found them a good home. You could do without this extra worry, fingers crossed they get another good home soon.

I am gutted, because its hard enough for me downsizing my herd, and I have done by best to make sure all the goats went to good homes.  Obviously, now they are for sale again, I will not be able to monitor who enquires to buy them, or indeed where they will go.  If it were possible, would have them back, but as I said in my post, I urgently need to cut numbers due to the unforseen moving issue.  I am feeling very fragile anyway at the moment, and yes, it has caused me extra stress.  I feel bad for the people too, as if they don't sell the goats ASAP, they risk being told to move off the land altogether, and that would be terrible, as its been their dream.
