OK, so after a bit of research, I've managed to ascertain that:
Bumble bees attract VAT at 20%, whereas honey bees are zero rated.
So that's ok then...... WAIT A MINUTE - WHO THE HELL SELLS BUMBLE BEES?!?!
On a more serious note, can somebody please confirm that I've got these right?:
- Lamb meat sales, zero rated
- Live sheep sales, zero rated
- Sale of laying hens, ducks and geese, zero rated
- Sale of vegetables, zero rated
- Sale of home made jam etc, zero rated
- Eating egg sales, zero rated
- Hatching egg sales for hens, ducks and geese (species normally eaten), zero rated
BUT.....
- Fleece sales, Standard 20% rate
- Hatching egg sales for peafowl (not normally eaten), standard 20% rate
Have I got that correct?
