Lambs coming late.
« on: May 11, 2017, 09:14:35 am »
I don't know what is going on this year but most of my lambs seem to be coming late.
I raddle my ram and record the date he marks each ewe, changing the colour every 21 days so I know if he serves them a second time.
Normally my ewes birth 148 days later but this year most have been 3-5 days late and one has just been born nearly 2 weeks late its wool is about an inch long. Whats going on.

Regards Graham.

I'd say "the weather".  Mine vary, too, from year to year.  Their record is six days early and nine days late.  It can be inconvenient at times but provided they're all healthy and grow away well I wouldn't worry too much.
