Recommend an incubator??
« on: August 03, 2008, 10:29:45 pm »
Hi , has anyone any tips / advice/ recommendations for incubator buying.  It;s not for commercial use, but we would like something for about  2 dozen hens eggs. From the ads it appears there are various degrees of automation, we are unsure as to what we might need. All advice  gratefully received. Many thanks.

We had a Covatutto and it let us down three times. We now have a Brinsea and it has been completely reliable. It's an Octagon 10 which is too small for what you want but the make has been good.

I woould recommend an automatic cradle for turning unless you are awfully well organised.

I have an R-Com 20 Pro which is fantastic - all you have to do is top the water up every few days, it does everything else for you.

We're having our first attempt at hatching. Our eggs are going in to a Lyon TX6 today and more will go in to a Little Giant which we're waiting to arrive from the States. Will let you know how they do.

Fingers crossed!  :chook:
