We have 6 goose eggs in our incubator!  The first hatched about 1 hour ago.  Another has a slight crack but none of the others are anywhere near hatching out yet.  Our wee hatchling is looking a wee bit squashed in there.  Will it be OK to move him/her out into our brooder box once dried out as it could be quite a while before a brother or sister appears!!

Lisa you can leave the gosling in the incubator for up to 24 hours. If you leave it in the noises it makes will encourage the others to come out. However, if you want to put it in the brooder you can.

I would try and leave it til the other one is well on its way out, then if it is a bit squished and it is dry, move it to the brooder.  Better still try and wait til it has a brother or sister to go in the brooder with, the noises of the hatchling will encourage the others to get a move on though!

How many did you get in the end?

I want goose eggs for next year, I am quite addicted to this hatching lark!
