Time of the month (PMT)
« on: August 02, 2008, 09:18:51 am »
Being fairly new to pig keeping can anyone tell me if female pigs display signs of pmt the same as human females, both my girls seem to suffer (one more than the other) every 21 days, very lethargic, not a great appetite (but still eating), lots of sleeping.
Took the temperature of pig in question this morning and it was 39.2, so not excessively high, it is fairly warm here too.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Yes they are ovulating.  Every  21 days.  As soon as they get to the boar they will become little rays of sunshine!
