6 Suffolk Ewes and 1 lazy ram.
He was a bit late going in with the girls as he was poorly. Anyway 3 ewes produced twins and a single by the middle of April.
Then no more.
Sheep were sheared, and the other 3 still looked fat, 1 started to "bag up" and last Thursday produced a lamb, the second ewe had a lamb on Monday, the third is huge, so we are waiting, she had twins last year.
So how unusual is a 2 month break ?

we had that happen this year we actually started early with no clue as to how the tups managed to get to the ewes as there was a 5 foot wall seperating them.... then the standard lambing and then 6 weeks later two more gimmers lambed. I couldn't work out how they were getting tupped til I saw a gimmer jump up onto the wall walk along about 10 yards then jump down to the tups... when I went in to chase her she quite casually jumped back again.... I had just been saying we hadn't had the gimmers so fit before.... this year there are 2 fields between the tups and the ewes

If you dont want late lambs take the ram out after a month.

we do the rams run by themselves, the gimmers were jumping over a high wall and going back after the visit. as I said this year they are at least 2 fences apart.. nightmare for field planning but safer
