First chicks hatched today !
« on: June 16, 2010, 06:42:53 pm »
After giving a friend of mine 3 lots of eggs for his incubator (at which he failed miserably) I'm over the moon that one of our hens went broody and has today hatched 6 chicks ! 3 eggs left hopefully to hatch tomorrow.

They're all as cute as pie, of course the cocks probably will end up as pie !

One question, once they're old enough, can I put the hens in with our current hens? This effectively means they'll be running with their father. Is it best to keep them seperate and bring in another cockerel for them?

Thanks for any advice
