Evening All,
Not been on for a good while as our little herd has been all good and healthy.
Started our lambing early this year as bought a new ram and put him straight in to field.... We have 2 we are already bottle feeding due to mums being rubbish and just wanting there 1st out to raise.....anyway one of these is fine drinking, nibbling hay, active bright but in last 2 days strains to pee, although 1st time pees then continues to try again with just a dribble as if needs to go... she is not constipated as seen her poop..
I'm guessing a urine infection .... is there a common treatment/ antibiotic I can source rather than run a vet bill visit ?
Any advice would be greatly received.

Can you take the lamb to the vet, which would at least avoid a call out fee? Such a young lamb requires very prompt attention.

Agree with Marches Farmer. You are guessing and we would be guessing without even seeing the lamb.

Hi all,
Good news I hope,
Spoke to the vet that afternoon. And he was unable to visit straight away but suggested We administered a antibiotic jab and a diraretic jab under her skin in neck area... so popped up to vets to pick up... we live in France , syringes included €2.60 .... wow.. great service...
Administered and had to pop out .. when we came back in vet was at door , he said he was passing . No charge just wanted to make sure all was well.. What a nice chap.
Anyway today lamb now NOT crunching to pee so hopefully all is now well..
