Anyone out there breed Gold Laced Orpingtons, i was lucky enough to pick up some day olds at auction and was wondering if anyone can give me any info on them, a friend seemed to think that the darker birds are hens and the lighter one cockerels but would like to know for sure, obviously in time I will be able to tell, but for now, if you know can you tell me.

yes i breed them in large and bantam iff there are well marked they might be worth a fuew bob .in 5 weeks you will see a bright red bit on the top off is head thats a cock bird .very nice birds mine came from germaney bantam and the large 1s all over

Hi Gary, thanks for reply, I dint realise until I started researching them that they have not been in the country for that long, they are about 6 weeks old now poss more, I will try and put pics up, I only started with Orpingtons this year and find them difficult to sex as I can usually make an educated guess by the tail feathers but buffs are very fluffy!!
