Help! incy runner ducks
« on: June 01, 2010, 06:58:29 pm »
I currently have some runner duck eggs in the incubator.
I've read up that much I've confused myself... and am now not sure when I should the auto turner off?!

Is it like hens - 3 days before hatching?
And just how many days should runners take? cos my book says ducks vary between 25,28 & 30 days... but doesn't mention runners specifically!!

Please help!! soon!       :D    :&>

Any duck eggs I have hatched have been 30 days and I turn the turner off 3 days before. However, at times some have started hatching the day before I have switched off. Good luck.

thanks James, I was hoping you wouldn't be far away!!
I've re-googled and read that runners can be 28 days, so I'd better go and check the calander again...

Thursday is "day 28" so any time after that!
the chicks (now five weeks) started Wednesday & the last out on the Friday, so we'll give them plenty of time.
We haven't candled them so it'll be a surprise....
