Feeding pigs with malted barley residue?
« on: May 28, 2010, 01:59:53 pm »
I've been feeding my pigs, ftt, with 'expended' malted barley. I do some home beer brewing using grain and after the mashing process I am left with barley which has had all of the sugars extracted. The pigs like it but I'm wondering if it has any nutritional benefits or if it is merely a 'pig muesli' - ie. just there to keep them 'regular'? (Not that they need it)

No idea, but if you feed them their normal rations and they start to get "porky" cut back a bit.
