« on: May 25, 2010, 11:49:50 pm »
Ive found a boar & have been quoted a price for service. I provide the food & they will keep the sow upto six weeks ( depending on when shes served.)

Could you give me a rough idea How much do people usually pay

Its £25 for AI, so a good boar would be a bit more I would think.

Is it difficult to 'give' them AI? Or do you get the vet to do it? Also how do you find good 'stuff'?

Not difficult at all Helencus.  I get mine from Deerpark who have various rarebreeds, it comes with the catheters and full instructions.

I'll take a look, my girls are saddlebacks so I'd want them to have saddleback pigglets not crosses. The girls are 6 months now I thought to wait until 10 - 12 months what's others views?

MMM hello this is a true tale. When I was a youth there was a man long dead now He was called Sam Trafford .He traveled a boar in the back of an Austin A40 pick up truck with a home made shed on the back and a ramp to let the pig in and out.One day a fine chap asked my pal Mick if he knew him to which Mick replied.Yes he lives on the top road in that tumbled down old house and Yes You'll know which is Traff hes the one wi the tash smokin a pipe :farmer:
