I'm not 100% sure but I think it's a wagtail in my nesting box on the shed wall.  Do they nest in boxes?  I saw three or four whitish eggs in there, then next time I looked mum was in there with a long black tail.  I haven't looked again so as not to frighten her.  Will need to watch Rio but it's more rabbits, magpies, and pigeons he goes for

wouldnt be able to say, but hey what ever vthey are they trust you enough to nest there,
it was brill the moment we seen ours, we were playing with the kids on our bit of land where the animals are
and we seen them the kids were amazed, esp me as i forgot all about the box that me and grace made(she is only 6)
we made it about 2-3 yrs ago!

There was a wee bird nested in the box the April I moved in 2008, but with all the melee I didn't take any notice till I saw Candy, the cat that I lost recently, catching one of the wee ones as it tried to fly for the first time, so I got her and Rio inside and locked the cat flap.  Nothing in it last year.   Candy was the one for little birds so I'm hopeful Rio won't be interested but I'll be watching him.  I've weighted down the lid too so he can't lift it.  It's very near the trees so they don't have far to fly to reach safety.
Try and catch some photos Langdon - have you got a fast camera? ;D ;D ;D
