anyone keep northern bobwhite quail
« on: May 17, 2010, 11:02:40 pm »
does anyone have experience with bobwhite quail    I have two new quail - one northern bobwhite hen sits around all the time fluffed up - while the orange is quite inquisitive but ends up sitting with the other hen.  Dont really know why she is fluffed.  Is a year old but not laying yet this season.  could be the stress of the change of surroundings I guess... any ideas welcome...  she has bright eyes and no nasal discharge nothing to suspect illness and yet she is acting as though she is unwell...  thanks for any help

we have cortunix, not bobwhite...     but I'll try!
are you sure she IS a she?!
I would have thought she should have started laying by now,
how long since they moved to your place?  and is it very different, ie could there be something fretting her in her new pen?

do you worm them and treat for lice/mites etc?

hope she perks up soon...
