Hi. Has anyone used  call ducks to keep slugs down on a veg pot? Will the veg survive?

My calls had free range, never did any damage, obviously couldn't deal with the big blackies. I did find the odd one who must have tried to down a slug too big for them, just dead in the field and when I shook them upside down a slug fell out.
